Note to self:
You know you've been reading too much about Victorian gay men when you misread "Iranian" as "Uranian" in a recent newspaper headline.

If I do write this fic, I hope you won't be disappointed: unlike you, I don't usually ship Dolokhov/Anatole! So my hypothetical fic is more likely to be a character study of Dolokhov and his sexual identity, with his love for Anatole more in the background. But the wonderful prompt definitely made me see the novel in a new way.
Have you ever thought of joining Archive of Our Own (AO3) and posting your War & Peace fics there? The archive allows people to search for fics by fandom... maybe you'll discover that there are other W&P fans or even other Anatole/Dolokhov shippers out there!
Anyway, thanks for dropping by, and for the fic-writing encouragement. :D

Dolokhov character studies are always wonderful as far as I'm concerned. I fangirl over the boy all the time so...heh.

Awesome! I asked you this because I've never found any fic on AO3 under "Tolstoy" or "War and Peace." Now I've just realized that the fandom is listed as "Voyna i Mir" instead. This may be more culturally accurate, but makes it harder for English-speaking fans to search. (I do know some Russian myself, but it never would have occurred to me to look for Russian titles on AO3!)
Anyway, glad to learn there actually is a Tolstoy fandom on AO3, however small. And thanks again for your encouragement to join this small but select fandom. :)
