You might want to contact a real estate agent and have him or her hook you up with a list of houses for rent. In that part of the country, that's sometimes as cheap or cheaper than an apartment.

I miss you, too. It's been really crazy in terms of the jet lag and finding a place that we thought wasn't really going to be a big deal. I'll let you know. I wanted to call you yesterday so bad but my phone has its giant R for Roaming on all the time. We were going to get phones today but I don't think that's going to fit in our schedule of morning with the realty woman and afternoon at the remaining two possibilities. From there we'll give someone money. Sigh.

XOXOXOXOXOXO and I can't wait to see you!

Seriously, if people are balking at you having pets, you need to offer them cash to make them happier with that choice. Offer a pet deposit, and $50 more a month in rent, to account for any possible trouble with pets. That should help.

We have resorted to promises of "pet rent" and the payment of a "pet fee". People want $500 as the pet fee to cover damage. Since that's not money they intend to return (everyone calls it a non-refundable deposit, which says "fee" to me) we figure Vahti can climb all the screens she wants. ;-)

Seriously, though, there are even places you can BUY here that have owner's association regulations that don't allow pets. I am boggled.

Best of luck in finding an appropriate place that you can love, and entertain the odd travellers who show up at your o-so-distand door!

(btw, did you get an envelope from me a while back? i'm afraid it got lost in the mail...)

Yes, and I sent a ty but I'm thinking you didn't get it.
So, belatedly
THANK YOU. I love the bracelet and had a lot of fun identifying all the saints. I also adored getting a postcard. I really love postcards!

I hope to get to see you soon(ish) and I'm sorry you won't be a VVC. We did get a nice place with room for visitors and I'm still going to plan a little beach house get away in NC for us.
