Wow. What's it like to have an earthquake under your house?

A small quake under the house isn't unlike a large quake from far away. This was a short little one, one of the ones where you wait for a second to see if it's going to keep going or get bigger, which it didn't. I don't often feel them if they're under a 4.5 or so, but this one being right here made the difference.

Earthquakes and rain? What is up out there? *G*

Though they are my great-aunt Cille's fave-rave restaurants, you're not missing anything by not having Golden Corrals. BELIEVE ME. Canned chick peas under a sneeze guard do not a fabulous dining experience make. (Think: Potosi.)

Thanks ... when I was driving through the entire midwest with A., we went to CiCi's and I was happy (well, sad, but happy) to find that I wouldn't miss it at all. *g* But I did eat canned chickpeas from under a sneeze guard today. (Chick peas are the same as garbanzo beans, yes?)

The rain is mild, and so was the quake. I suspect they are unrelated.

Come visit me again and I will take you to Golden Corral! *g*

(Really, it's not all that. It's pretty good, but then so are most Southern-style buffet chain restaurants. It's tough to tell one from another.)

I can't help loving a buffet. I'm so picky, and it's great because I choose what to eat and how to eat it and stuff like that. And yes, if/when I come back, Golden Corral it is!

Golden Corrals are also hard to find in Chicagoland (I discovered them when I lived in Texas) but I know of at least one, in Bolingbrook.

Their killer app -- real mashed potatoes! Definitely a cut above Luby's and the like. :)

Yum, mashed potatoes! February is POTATO MONTH at Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes, by the way. I will be there a LOT.

Souplantation is SO FAR SUPERIOR to Golden Corral that it's like comparing... I don't know. Something really crappy to something really NOT.

(Of course, I've only been to one GC, and that one sucked. Whereas I've been to several Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes, including one in SPAIN that was called something else but was TOTALLY Souplantation. I took a picture of it for you which, at some point, I will find.)

I'm glad to hear it! I feel better when I'm only missing out on something not-so-good.
