Oh my. I see that they take the Jackson Pollock approach to decorating their yard. You are so lucky to be living so close to such artistes.

How expensive must that be to light!!!

Do you ever talk to these people? What are they like?

Not just expensive .... I'd worry about blowing the household circuits. Maybe they had heavy-duty wiring installed for this.

Anyway. Holy Mary, mother of God.

There is Vi, who's about 80, and Sam, who's nearing the same if not there. Vi has always lived there, and Sam used to date one of her daughters(!) but now lives with Vi. Nobody knows what their relationship entails, but they both get up early, before it's light out when I'm still up from the night before. Sam loves cars. He has about 6 of them, and is always moving them around the neighborhood for parking reasons. Sam used to be a plumber, I think. The yard is usually full of fake deer, squirrels, and windcatchers. Vi's a decorative sort.

Okay, that's almost charming.

It must be nice to know that you're nowhere near the most eccentric person in the neighbourhood, no matter what you do. *g*

Is that their front yard? People here also do crazy things with their lights. I can't imagine how much it costs them to light it all.

Yup, the front yard! There's a guy a few streets down who goes even more crazy, but he hasn't put his stuff up yet and he's selling his house so I don't know if he'll go all out this year or what.

It's not even as crazy as it used to be, dude. They're older now so they only do it by half.

You're welcome! ropo December 2 2008, 21:20:41 UTC
Yup, that might be the best part. (The elves/snowmen inside the snow globe are actually on SWINGS.)
