If they play it, I will watch.

I am absolutely powerless against "Field of Dreams." I got up to use the bathroom and it was just starting at 4am. And here I am at 5:30 watching Moonlight Graham give up his dream to save little Gaby Hoffmann from choking on a hot dog. This same thing happened a month or two ago, and I changed my LJ subtitle to "You people are guests in my corn!" ( Read more... )

I cannot stop watching Field of Dreams, either. It never gets old. And I cry at the end EVERY DAMN TIME.

I know what you mean about FIELD OF DREAMS -- it's the "People will come, Ray." speech that always gets me. I love James Earl Jones' voice.

Yes! And Lloyd Bridges. And Timothy Busfield walking right in the middle of the game... there's really not a wrong moment in that movie.

I just saw Field of Dreams for the first time a few months ago and that scene with Moonlight Graham totally killed me - I was absolutely sobbing. I realized what was going to happen to him a few moments before Kevin Costner did and was like, "Oh, no, no, oh, don't do it!" And then when one of the players (Shoeless Joe?) turned to him as Moonlight went to leave and said "You were a great player, kid," or something like that... God.

Oh, I'm so jealous of your seeing it for the first time. It's like taking someone to Disneyland for the first time!

There are so many awesome sports movies that I somehow missed - I saw Bull Durham that same week. I still haven't watched Hoosiers or Any Given Sunday, either. I know I'm going to love Any Given Sunday. *g*

Field of Dreams is one of my favorites - I cannot turn away. My Mom recently went there and she said it looks exactly like the movie and you can take pictures coming out of the corn and you can even bring a bat and ball and play!

Ooh, that's so exciting! Because I was just looking at IMDb and their trivia said "as of 1990" you could do that and I was wondering if it was still true. If I was within 200 miles I'd totally go.

<- going to watch the Dodgers beat the Giants live on Sunday
