The LJ poll is closed now.

Those first two shots are SPECTACULAR. The light playing around the edges is great, and I especially love the contrast in different surfaces (the sheen of the petals versus the crumbly-seeming texture of the stamens) in the first one.

I know that third one, but the name escapes me right now. I'll see it later this summer, though!

Oooooh, I love overhead shots. So that's LA, hunh?

Well, that's downtown. It's not where I live. But yes.

LA is big.

And those shots only show a wee bit of it.

The last flower looks like a Wild Red Columbine to me.

Yup, that's a columbine.

These are really lovely, Ropo. And LA! On a clear day you can see forever! *grin*

And LA! On a clear day

Yeah! Apparently it's been windy the past few days. Today it's been rainy, though. Real live rain! Hard rain! So exciting.

Thanks, S! Now that you say it, I think you're right. They did have little markers next to everything, but I didn't want to waste my camera storage by taking photos of them most of the time, and I do remember that one being Columbine.

WOW! Those photos are amazing! I really love the detail in the first two.

Excellent job capturing downtown LA. I love taking photos out the plane window, though lately I've flown to and from the west and so I haven't been able to get a good shot of Chicago.

Excellent job capturing downtown LA.

Thanks! I was lucky that a) the junk on the plane windows didn't show up and b) it was a very clear day. It's so rare that there's no smog or haze!
