Getting all photographic on your ass.

The details of the long weekend are slowly leaking out of me.

One part of the weekend (well, technically it was Tuesday, but we were still out of town and on vacation, so close enough) that totally rocked was when my younger sister, hugskitties19, took me and quillon out to a New Age bookstore, Earth Spirit, and I found this little statue and just had to have it. Those are fly agaric mushrooms at the base... just to throw in yet another spiritual symbol.

Yeah. I noticed them and didn't even think about the significance, but you're right!

Yeah, the photos turned out much better than I hoped for. Of course, the originals were freakin' huge (something like 1 MB a piece) so that explains part of it. And I'm learning more about composition too.

Welcome to the Brotherhood of PAN!!!!

He's been around in my life for a long time now. It's just really neat to have this concrete symbol, if that makes any sense.

One of the things I have learned via first hand experience in my magical training is that images have a much more direct impact upon the more visceral part of the human consciousness than words or concepts.

So, every time you look at a picture or statue of Pan, you're accessing the energies He incarnates in a much more direct way than, say, just reading a quote about honoring the sacredness of your own maleness.

One of my favorite things is to light one candle next to him in a darkened room. The effect of the candlelight playing over his features is really quite magical.

This makes a lot of sense. I can already see that (no pun intended).

Ditto, sweetie. If all works out the way I expect it to, I should be down, at least briefly, sometime this summer, probably both on my way to babysitting geminigirl's kitties and on the way back.
