Being successful as an artist takes incredible energy, commitment and drive... If you don't believe you have it, you may create a self fulfulling prophecy. I've always played it safe and can't say I know for sure I've done the right thing. I respect and appreciate the sacrifice you made to give it a shot, but noone should fault you for going back to a more 'traditional' career. Which ever way you go, we support you. Good luck!
While I have always admired the way you and others like you have made the choice to peruse your music, something I could never do. I wouldn't call it a failure. You said it yourself that one of the reasons you left your work was because you weren't happy there, if you can be happy there now, with more benefits, I say that is a victory. I am a firm believer in the road more traveled, especially when it comes to financial security. Life requires money, and one of the most stressful issues in our daily lives is money, You need to find the balance between making the money you need to be happy and comfortable, but also doing something that you feel is rewarding and fulfilling. It will be up to you which path provides you the best balance
