I wanted to write a new MGWLiC chapter for Valentine's, I really, really did. But I just. Could. Not. I live and fucking breathe this stupid story, you can ask a certain banker whom I lunched with on Monday why I spent an hour raging over the difficulty of writing an action scene. orz is seriously becoming my default mode.

If that's the case, I don't know if this story is for you (or for anyone other than my crazyass self, for that matter). It focuses on an extremely minor character whose personality I wholly made up, and covers events that happened a million years before the series even began.

There are so many good lines and turns of phrase in here that I don't even know where to start-- especially in the kissing scene. AHAHAHAHAHA, total win, what with Shisui shocking Itachi for once with his casual, off-the-cuff, inane criticism of the moment.
You have a real knack for catching how life is serious and ridiculous, meaningful and random, everything and nothing, all at the same time, and I really admire that.

THANK YOU. I sometimes vacillate between angst and comedy, not knowing which I prefer to write, but in truth it's the stories that contain both that I enjoy writing the most. You're absolutely right: that's life. You win some, you lose some, you laugh some, you cry some. But then I remember that every true story ends with death...

THIS IS COMPLETE BASED IN REALITY. As a person who had long ass hair for a consecutive decade, I can attest that those hair-ties get misplaced all the fucking time. At one point I resorted to either using scrunchies or carrying around a box of the stuff, because I was sick of crawling around looking for them.

...now I'm picturing Itachi with scrunchies :|

ah ha ha ha, how much of a nerd am I, that all the subtle bits were so exciting for me. MORE DANZO! KAKASHI IDENTIFIED ONLY BY HIS WEAK EXCUSES! DUELING DADDY ISSUES!

Also, Itachi gets his turn with the awkward ball, finally. We need to find a good fanartist to draw Itachi being walleyed and awkward after the second kiss..

Only as much of one as I am. I put those details there after all XD Seriously, I'm so excited someone not only caught but was amused by them. I like peppering a story with little semi-obscure bits of canon hoping people would pick up on them. (Also Kakashi Gaiden is the best thing ever and everyone should have it memorized anyway.)

If only :( I would pay good money for that, not gonna lie.
