You have your tiny core of rage right now, and you think it’s never gonna stop hurting, never gonna go away, but you’ve still got a lot of time, and a ton of other stuff going for you. I know it’s hard to see it like that when you’re standing knee deep in shit, but you’re just going to have to believe that everything is going to work out, okay?

So many of the things that were said in this piece really hit a chord, but perhaps this one the most of all.

Ahhh the whole thing was so perfect. I like to see this moving forwards, and I see their personalities coming out... for example, Roxas is all English-majory, so he tries to explain things in fiction metaphors. And then their bickering interaction XD; <33 So cute.

I also like to hear Axel backstory. It makes his drastic Grease-style change for Roxas mean a whole lot more.

Ah, now for more of my classic Beta What Beta Writing Style. I bet those aren't even the only errors in this. And I only had to write 3,500 or so words too orz

Ever since the early chapters of this story, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what Axel's backstory would be, and indeed whether I should include a backstory for him at all. Initially I was attracted to the idea of Axel as just this being with no why or wherefore, as if his existence needed no justification, like a force of nature (you know, as Manic Pixie Girlfriends tend to be). But while that worked out well for the early parts of the story, eventually I decided that someone as neurotic as Roxas in this story couldn't possibly be satisfied with that, regardless of how much he might pretend to want to keep things simple ( ... )
