Nat!

I had the same reaction... half of the movie my jaw was on the floor and I don't even like Batman movies! I'm still recovering and I saw it on thursday night. *thud*

I know everybody has said it but Heath deserves the Oscar, he was out of the world with his Joker, completely insane, a delightful and complex psicopath.

Hey, hon! Long time, no see. :)

I love how the jaw-dropping reaction tends to be the reaction of even non-Batman fans. I've always liked Batman (he's been my favorite superhero forever, way before Christian Bale played him), so it's great to see that others are discovering are the greatness. I will love Christopher Nolan forever for revving up the franchise again.

Heath was AMAZING. And he wasn't over the top at all - even though some of the things the Joker did was outlandish, he seemed so real. I also loved the balance of the character and Heath's performance - he tottered between hilarious and terrifying. :)

I've missed you, my friend. ;)

I'm not into superheroes of any kind, but if I ever have to chose one Batman would be my favourite because he's completely human (with the coolest toys). Also in this movie they showed Bruce Wayne as a very complicated and grey character.

That's what I loved the most about Heath's performance, he made a believable villain, he looked insane and enjoying every minute of it. I have to recognize that when I saw the Joker's last scene, I got all choked up because I remembered this is the last time I ever saw Heath act.

Another thing, the interaction between Batman and the Joker were fabulous and intense, even comical.

That's exactly why he's my favorite, because he technically doesn't have any superpower, he's all human. I also like the fact that Bruce is his mask and it's not the other way around. Like, Peter Parker is Spiderman, but he's more Peter than he is Spidey. Bruce Wayne is Batman, through and through, and he has to pretend to be this cliche' of a billionaire.

Yeah, I thought that about Heath the second time I saw it. The first time I watched it, I had no clue if that was his last scene or not. And I wasn't really focused on Heath. It's just really sad.

Their interaction was hilarious! I loved when Batman flipped the truck over and then kind of reversed his Batpod and was all, "HA, TAKE THAT." And I LOVED the line the Joker said to Batman about "you complete me." Oh, my heart.

Ha ha, I don't know if "cute" would be the word to describe him. Unless, well, the whole hospital/detonator scene was pretty cute, I have to admit. But most of the time I was just shrinking back in my seat. He was so twisted. My reaction to the Joker reminded me of my reaction to Patrick Bateman the first time I saw American Psycho.

I know people tend to beatify recently deceased celebs so that it's to be expected that some will call for that person's last role to win an award, even if it's not deserved, but in Heath's case, I totally agree with the Oscar talk. He was simply amazing.

The whole film was wonderfully done. Another aspect I really liked was Aaron as Harvey Dent. He portrayed the character with good depth and his transformation was utterly believable.

I'm not the biggest Batman fan, but The Dark Knight is not just a good Batman installment or comic book adaptation; it's a great film.

See, I remember the Oscar talk before Heath died, so I don't think it's all because he died. Though you're right about people and how they react to deceased celebs.

You're so right about Aaron Eckhart. I haven't seen him in much (I think I saw him in Erin Brockovich and that's it), but he was great here. He scared me quite a few times, and his dramatic scenes were very intense.
