Layout Update: Tags in Sidebar

Hey kids, I want to have my tags organized in the sidebar. You know, that nifty thing where you have them in an organized list type thing? Is anyone opposed to this change? =)

See neptune_video if you don't know what I mean exactly. You have your tags like this "tv: veronica mars." The code checks for a delimiter (in this case : ) and splits them up based on ( Read more... )

Thanks! And because I am so nice, right now it is set up to check if they want it to be organized or not. If not, it will print out the old way. And people say I'm evil. Pfft. ;-)

I like it!! I had seen it on someone's icon journal and thought it looked good. I only wonder how wide I'd have to set my sidebar to be in order to have it work... or does it allow for it to drop to a second line? I love the way you've formatted too It's classy!!

Right now it's totally default UL/LI styling, but there are classes to determine main LI and sub LI so you can customize it in the CSS.

For example, I just added .subTag { width: 100px; } to my CSS Overrides, so it wrapped them for me. ;-)

yaaa i see this. So I'm guessing that I'd have to have my tags labeled like

tv: Alias or something for it to work right? Like already have the tags organized so that it does it for me? or is this a multiple tag thing? I'm just trying to figure out how it does it.

=)

It's best to rename tags and then go in and modify exceptions, I've found. Makes it pretty quick.

(Did you see my note above where I said it's still a choice of one way or the other right now? I'm so nice. :-p )

There it should be sorted out now. I hadn't put it totally into the layout style of boxes yet. :-p
