I just found out that my 4,300-word autobiographical essay about Joanna Russ, "Getting to Joanna", is being published in the December 2011 issue of The New York Review of Science Fiction -- it's at the printer right now and should be out within days.

Thank you! It was a shock, finding out -- I had assumed that because I hadn't heard from them in the time frame necessary for publishing it in the December issue that they had rejected it -- only to find that the opposite was the case. That's got to be among the nicer occasions of having my expectations overturned I've ever experienced.
