I take the point. It was a quote from the apartheid regime in South Africa about U.Ks inability to get anything right in Ulster. These young men are blighted forever. Walking Figure 11s (targets).
But there's the problem...ancientoneukApril 12 2009, 04:33:18 UTC
They can draw conclusions from anything e.g. the "liquibombers" and portray it as a dastardly plot.
Like the Ricin bomb plot, a man, a bit of a nutter suddenly goes from inescapable loner/loser into the role of some mastermind of Al Qaeda with only the Guardian pointing out that the police case was not only flaky but downright non-existent.
The "Liquibomber", where highly regarded scientists stated time and again that the "perpetrators" could never have brought of their plan simply because it was impossible to make that particular explosive in a small toilet cubicle and without the use of a laboratory, no one listened and the public were told of these "evil" peoples intent but little else.
This smacks of a con or maybe Quick blew a CIA/MI5-6 operation that even the Pakistanis didn't know about but were an unwitting part of, after all the CIA now has 1 in 4 operations running in British muslim communities, are they investigating plots and gathering intelligence or are they playing more to their forte of creating plots and planting

I think America is reticent of an imbroglio in Britain. It sees the U.K as a worse bet than Cuba under Batista or 'Nam in '74. Tacitly they are preparing to pull out. Nothing that Langley does woul surprise me. Even a "grade student" in Chemistry would have sussed that my toothpaste, shampoo & contact lenses couldnt blow up the plane I was on. Is it more sinister, Orwellian? The British are Sheeple. Lamb tastes nice!
I was half-expecting an explosive device to be discovered today (or explode, even) in order to take the heat off the Government over the latest revelations. Then again, it's not 4.00 pm yet, so there's still time.
