A vitally important base now that the Taliban have bombed the Khyber pass out of action for a few weeks.

The nearest analogy I can make is with the Romam empire. The Brits are perceived as "native levees".Expendable.It is a pity as America has much to give. Now,there will be a backlash. We are going to be a worse bet than Cuba under Batista or Vietnam in'74.Washington is tacitly pulling out of Blighty.
