Keeping a record of people coming and going from our country is a good idea, and should have been done all the time. If it had been done in the Roman times and the Dark Ages we'd have the answer to the question: were the native Britons overrun by and interbred with various different hordes of foreigners, and if so where did the foreigners come from? Some say our DNA proves that we are descended from Celts, Danes, Norse, Angles, and Saxons because all those people invaded our island. Others reckon these waves of immigration are just a myth and our DNA is just similar to that of foreigners because we are all descended from from a common ancestor ( ... )

Firstly DNA, the last academic piece I read seemed to indicate that U.K DNA is basically stone-age overlaid with Celt/Viking etc. More "foreign" in the South-East. As to immigration control I am all in favour of that, I just do not want "them" (the bastards who try and grind you & I down) to track, monitor and tabulate every trip I make.

Yes I noticed that after the end of Communism the new hate figures were Libyan, Syrian, Iranians (spot the common denominator).
