He’d hidden the tapes at the back of the cupboard ten years ago - evidently not well enough. The fuzzy picture casts a glow on Kurt’s face as he stares at the screen. From his place against the door frame Burt watches the boy on the screen tottering around the living room in his mother’s heels, and when he trips he’s caught by safe arms and pulled into her embrace. Kurt reaches to trace the picture on the screen and Burt swallows the lump in his throat as he leaves the room.
Kurt might be ready for this, but he’s not.
