Hi, my name is Reuben and I am a zom.
This is my log of what happened this summer, out first summer at Lazy River.
The first thing I did when I moved into my cabin was plants the tomato seeds Bridget gave me. Food is starting to become hard to find so this is very important.
Then I started my study of the mechanics of zombism. I made that word up myself, I think I'm going to patent it. My aim is to find out what has stopped zoms like me and Bonnie becoming full zombies, then hopefully I will find a way to reverse it.
Scout pops round alot but he talks about trivial things, like girls, and kissing, and ice cream. He's not a bad chess opponent so I put up with it. I've been giving him some advice on the electricity and water problem, I would have been first choice to take on that project but I'm too busy with my own agenda to take it on, I don't mind helping out where I can though.
The ladies of the settlement visit alot. I think they are worried about me living up here away from the group. They don't seem to realise I do it for their own safety. Not to mention that I freak out when I have to deal with more than one person at a time. Conversation is not my strong point.
Thorn gave me a fish from his pond, he's generous like that. I will have to return the favour when my tomatoes ripen.
This past summer has probably been the best few months of my life since the apocalypse. No zombies, time to study, a bed to sleep in. That's all I ask for. Only one thing could make it any more perfect, just get rid of Bonnie. I don't see her purpose here, she doesn't do anything except go visiting and fight with everyone. She's just another mouth to feed when food is limited. Not to mention her inane ramblings about babies and love and marriage. I might have to have a word to Scout about her.
