What a huge disappointment

Ok, so I must say that I am a HUGE Twilight fan.  Not to the point of dressing like characters from the book or anything like that.  But I will admit that I have read the books.  More than once.  More than twice.  Some of the books in the series even more than twice.  Ask poor JD...he heard me woo about Edward.  I was obsessed.  I'm over the ( Read more... )

I just saw it last night with my mom and sisters. I liked it ok, didn't hate it, didn't love it. I'm not obsessed with the books, and i think that's why I was ok with the movie. We all agreed that edward wasn't protrayed very well. He was....overly dramatic in the movie we felt. As for Bella....we actually didn't talk about her. However, we felt Charlie was spot on in the movie :) Dr. Cullen is way too....unreal? Esme wasn't motherly enough, Jasper looks like he's a dumb deaf mute rather than a mysterious vampire, Emmett, we didn't see much of him, Alice was ok as far as we could tell. We liked Billy and Jacob, but did not picture Eric to be the way he was, or Angela. We also felt that it stuck to the spirit of the book. My sister was sorely disappointed that they left out a scene in the restaurant (the 20 questions game thing). I felt there wasn't enough Jacob.
So...there :)

I *hated* the movie...then went again the next day to go with my parents. It was MUCH better the 2nd (and 3rd...as I had to take Tyliegh and Owen) time. Once I was able to get over the crappy filming and the budget film feel...I was able to enjoy the story that drew me into the books, again.

After not being very interested in the books when the mayhem over them began and then finally reading reading the first (...later followed by a frenzied reading of the following three -- in four days flat!) I was at an advantage. I already knew who they'd cast as Edward and so when I read the books I kind of had him in mind. I didn't know who was going to be Bella and hadn't seen Kristen in anything else. That said ( ... )
