Short Summary: Leah always knew how to ruin a good moment.

The moon was bright and full that night, its reflection shining across the river somewhere near the Cullen estate. He sat chin to his knees, arms holding his legs tightly and attempted to work all of this out in his mind. It was so ridiculous, like something out of those Sci-Fi movies Seth and Embry liked to watch so much. He half expected that life sucking thing to burst from Bella's bruised stomach and attack their faces as soon as it's eyes opened. The thought brought a bit of amusement and he laughed quietly.

“What's so funny, Jake? Finally realize you aren't as hot as you thought?”

Leah always knew how to ruin a good moment.

“Shut up, Clearwater. Go back to sleep,” he muttered and turned his head to glare at her in the darkness. The moon provided enough light that he could see her, all of her, and he forced himself to look away. He really didn't want to deal with Leah's bullshit once they phased again and she caught notice of his not so brotherly thoughts about her body. (again)

The sound of her standing and moving closer told him that she would not listen to him. Then again, when had she ever listened to anyone? He huffed in irritation as she sat down beside him, but when her bare shoulder brushed against his own, he closed his eyes.

“You're such a moron, Black. She doesn't want you. She is never going to want you. When are you going to give up? Or are you some sick masochist like her husband?”

His teeth ground together and he fought the urge to punch her. Even though he really would enjoy it, he wasn't about to start hitting girls. It wasn't as if he hadn't heard this all before, but Leah knew exactly how and what to say to get under his skin and hurt him. His teeth ground tighter together as he heard her laugh, but then his mouth dropped open and his breath rushed quickly past his lips.

“Leah, what the hell are you doing?” he asked quickly and quietly.

“I'm helping you get the hell over her, Black.”

He covered her hand with his own to push her away, but she only tightened her hold and whispered no against his cheek. He felt her tongue part her lips and move down his cheek to trace his jaw and he decided it wasn't that bad. But then, then, her hand began to move and he decided that this was fantastic.

He became lost in her touch and her lips and her breath against his skin. She smelled so good, so different than before and he welcomed it all, wanted more than what she gave him. It was why he wrapped his arm around her, why he turned his face and captured her mouth in a kiss, and why he pulled her onto his lap.

His hand drifted between them and down her body. Their burning skin touching felt amazing, like they would be set on fire, and he needed more than what was happening. He had never done anything like this before, but he knew that Leah had. He didn't want to act like an inexperienced idiot, and simply did what he had heard and seen from his pack brothers thoughts.

Her breath hitched in her throat and her nails dug into his shoulders -- he assumed he had done something right.

This was amazing, far more than he could have imagined, but it only got better when she stopped moving her hand and lifted herself. As she came down onto him, he had to stop himself from doing or saying something stupid. It felt so good, she felt so good. The control he had left aided him in finding her hips and figuring out what to do rather quickly.

They moved together, their mouths finding skin, her hands squeezing his shoulders, his her hips. They were not quiet, and he was sure they could be heard, but he didn't care. He didn't care if the vampires knew, if Seth knew. He didn't care about what any of them thought, if they would be judged. None of it mattered to him. The only that that made sense right now was Leah, and he was fine with that. In fact, he liked that a lot.

It was nice to forget and live a little bit.

The pressure, the pleasure, it all mounted until it came crashing down and his eyes opened to watch as she came undone before him, in the most vulnerable of states. She was breathtaking, and he was positive he had never seen anything more beautiful until this very moment. His own release was fast, and he was glad she was just as strong as him, that he didn't have to worry about hurting her, breaking her. It was almost comforting.

She panted against his neck, her hot breath seeping into his own hot skin and he couldn't think of a thing to say. He didn't know if there actually was anything appropriate to say. They had just had sex a few feet away from a still sleeping Seth and a house full of vampires and Bella. It was almost unbelievable, but it had really happened, and he was tempted to laugh but forced himself not to.

Leah's hand pressed to his chest, over his heart that was pounding so hard, like her own. He felt her mouth near his ear again and shuddered against her.

“We're the same, don't you see?”

He swallowed back all the reasons that were keeping him from agreeing, all the responsibilities that he really didn't need to take on, and nodded slowly. He tightened his arms around her and nodded once more before laying down on the ground and taking her with him.

They didn't move from that spot until the sky began to brighten and the moon drifted behind the sun.
