You say goodbye, I say hello

So yesterday was the last day for one of the doctors in my office. Her dream is to go to Italy, so we threw an Italian farewell for her with the cookbook and the CD (that she loved) and, of course, Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes. They were a hit, so I was most pleased, even if I did get attacked by frosting ( Read more... )

Well I was fine until you made me all emo. Tell me about the cupcakes, are those real meatballs? Damn, now I need something happy to make me happy. Have I tried to get you to watch Justified at all?

The cupcakes are Ferrero Rocher candies rolled in low-sugar strawberry preserves. The "noodles" are white frosting colored with three drops of yellow food coloring and a 1/2 tsp of unsweetened cocoa. They're almost creepy because they look so real.

Heee. I love that you want to make me happy by giving me more TV to get behind on.

They do look real, that's why I was so confused! Before I clicked on the link I thought you'd have made them out of pasta and real meat, but this is just damn awesome. Which is no surprise. As for Justified, I am just saying that I happen to like it. This is not a full blown endorsement like somethings you are hard-headed about. :D It's not like I'm writing it and banging down the door (yet). I am a woman without a fandom, so I cannot harass you to join me. But it shall happen one day again. Possibly.

I have heard good things, but I figure I'll have to DVD it, since I'm like...a ways behind and don't have it on my magic Tivo. The husband is trying to get me to watch "The Good Guys", which is by the guy who created Burn Notice. TOO MUCH TVS!

You are a genius at the baking. I wish you lived closer so I could get you to make me my birthday cupcake cake. ;) And so we could actually talk, but you know. *gg*

Enjoy your weekend. :)

These were super-easy!

1 - Bake cupcakes
2 - Take can of white frosting. Add 1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa and 3 drops yellow food coloring. Mix.
3 - Frost cupcakes lightly then use remaining frosting to make noodles by placing in ziploc bag and cutting 1/8 inch hole in the corner to make "noodles"
4 - Cover Ferrero Rocher candies in low-sugar strawberry jam until coated. Arrange on "spaghetti" and pour remaining sauce on top.
5 - Voila!

Awesome! You are likely far more talented than I. Some of the flower ones frighten me. I haven't gotten the new book yet - my birthday's this summer, and it's good birthday fodder.

Those cupcakes are awesome. How did you make them?

ETA: Just scrolled up and saw -- that's what I get for clicking on the reply link instead of reading first. ;)
