Victor likes fucking with Reed...in more ways than one.
I like Lancelot as a caretaker. I think he'd be good at doing it, but only for the ones who were smaller than him (not that there were many) or much much bigger than him (which would be Dag).
Oh, LEE... My heart broke for him his past episode, and this is just as poignant. Thank you so much for really putting me in Lee's headspace. This makes his motivations even clearer.
I'm glad you liked it! I wish I could have given you what you asked for, but Dee is a mystery to me, at least voice-wise, so this was as close as I could get.
Hee! Don't worry about it! I've always assumed Dee's voice is hard to pin down (or else there'd probably be more fic from her POV, or maybe that's just a result of the hate fandom has for her) so I completely understand.
And anyways, I think that what you wrote is really what I wanted: a fic that really puts me in Lee's mind and makes me understand him in the context of the episode. So your "as close" is really what I unconsciously asked for! :)
Dee is sort of a blank slate to me - she's never really had a significant personality other than steadfastness - so capturing her and making her seem like something other than a Mary Sue is hard. I'm glad that this was what you were looking for - I think Lee needs to make a difference somewhere for someone and so he tries so hard to be for Dee what he sees her as being for him.
Of course, then she went and did what she did, which has to, you know, make him think he kind of failed, even though what she did wasn't about him at all.
Oh Lancelot. I've always thought he would have been a leader like Arthur if it weren't for Arthur--nice to see the strange mixture of care and casualness that marks his style. And I adore the way you write Dagonet.
I think there's serious history between Lancelot and Dagonet, a kind of kinship that makes them significant to each other in ways that the other knights aren't. I think that somewhere when wee!Lancelot was being brought to England notso!wee!Dagonet was there for him. Even if it's not true, it makes me happy.
