I think they had secret crushes on each other before the marriage too. :)

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Wow!

I'm so glad he decided to consummate first and paint second!

Again, I'm awed by how much you can put into such a short work. I think this is fresh and original. The concept of the orphanage is so very timely. I wonder how big a crush she had on him when she initiated the "platonic" proposal?

*giggles* Or they could use body paint...

I think Megan was indeed crushing on Dean. (And visa versa.) She knew she didn't have enough time to wait for the natural course of things, so she jumped ahead and hoped for the best. (And secured Dean for future body paiting...) Fortunately, it worked out.

Thanks for you lovely comments!

Awww. I've always been curious about how to characterize Megan Jones, and I like what you've done here. Dean as an artist -- ahaha, a starving artist, too, boy do I know that one -- is a nice touch, as is the mention of Wales (hee! I would love her accent) and the kids. Lots of stuff in so short a story; I have a lot to learn from you!

I wanted to add some Welsh phrasing, but the word limit didn't allow for it. I did look at Welsh real estate and decided a farmhouse would be a great place to raise children. I went to Wales as child and remembered how beautiful it was, so that inspired me.

I just LOVED this.

Megan was perfect and very much a Hufflepuff. I think it would be something that any Puff would do to help children.

I loved how they both secretly fell in love with each other.

Aw, thanks, Robin! I like the idea of secret, unrequited love growing into a loving marriage. I agree, as a Hufflepuff, Megan wouldn't be afraid to take on the responsibility of adopting war orphans. And Dean would be brave enough to go along with the plan. :)

Thanks for your lovely comment!

I love that everyone got a happy ending. The details in this were great, from the expressive painting for the children to help with their feelings, to Dean realizing that he had fallen in love. :D

*nods* I thought artist!Dean would understand the therapeutic aspects of creativity and would volunteer to lead art classes for the sad children. I'm a sucker for a happy ending...

Thanks so much for your comment, CR!
