Hee - you've ventured to the good dark side! I love this piece. Not only because it's J/Kish, but because you have (once again) nailed these characters. I absolutely adore Wash here - he's so ... him!

Others have pointed out some great lines, but this one is a gem, as well:

Wash held my hand through this, he was really kind.

Hehe. That’s my favorite line too. I realized that I really love doing flash back scenes that kind of fit canon, yet still break the rules.

This was the only ship in the ‘verse that I couldn’t write. *is stubborn* I needed to clear that final hurdle into open-mindedness. But I still need to be passionate about a ship in order to read/write it on a regular basis.
