Part time schooling was usually a wonderful thing; it meant he didn't need to suffer any unfortunate social interaction, nor did he have to put any effort into ignoring the obligatory stares from his classmates. His white hair, dark skin, and red eyes earned him enough odd looks on the walk over, but a closer inspection might reveal his pointed elfish ears, elongated canine teeth, or perhaps even the apparent scarring around his throat (if this scarf was shifted just so).
In any case, Retica preferred to remain at home, and thus part-time schooling was his best option. The only times he really minded it were on days like this one, where he was required to haul a week's worth of homework to his various teachers. Currently he was balancing a stack of books and papers at least half his own height in his arms while carefully climbing the stairs.
He'd almost made it to the very top, but with nothing but books in his immediate vision he was bound to run into someone eventually. With a solid "thud!" he bumped right into someone, and there was an immediate explosion of books and homework papers.
"Damn it!" Retica scowled, watching the mess flutter brilliantly down the stairs. He turned on his heel, mindless of who he had bumped into and growled "look what you made me do!"
