First date (for leekspin)

Was he arriving at the right time? Duo wasn't sure. He wasn't kidding when he said he never had done this before. Orihime said "around dinner time" and to be honest, any time was dinner time for him. And where were they going to go anyway? Did he need to dress up? Fancy stuff wasn't exactly his thing. But he wanted to do this right, and Orihime ( Read more... )

ThumpthumpthumpthumpthumpTHUMPTHUMPTHUMPTHUMP! The rapid pattering of Orihime's feet as she bolted for the door was clearly audible. It seemed someone was excited about her date. She had no idea where he was going to take her, or even what they were going to do, though she figured 'eating food' was probably in there somewhere. It gave her an opportunity to wear something much nicer than her usual street clothes. She threw open the door, cheeks rosy, and eyes bright with excitement. "Duo-kun ( ... )

"Wow, 'Hime, ya look real-" He didn't have time to finish his compliment because he was suddenly being hugged, and he didn't see that one coming at all. It wasn't as if he minded it, quite the opposite: he was very touchy feely. But Japan has made him watch out for his hands, and as much as he attracted trouble, he wasn't that dumb to do it on purpose.

With rosy cheeks himself, Duo wondered if he should hug back (Would she take it badly? Was there a dad or an older brother spying behind the door?), but he barely managed to put his hand on her back and she was already pulling back.

"I was sayin' - ya look great." He was grinning like an idiot. He didn't care. "Now I feel like the cinema isn't that much of a great idea. And this-" He shows the black helmet. "-will only ruin the pretty."

Orihime grinned, feeling awfully pleased with herself for having the courage to hug him. If she could maintain that courage for the rest of the night, she'd definitely be able to kiss him at the end. That was something she'd also been looking forward to.

She started to object, that a movie would be just fine and she'd love to go see one, but then he flashed the helmet, stilling her protests.

Blink. "...That's a motorcycle helmet," she observed. Blink blink. "You have a motorcycle...?"

When he'd asked her about whether or not she'd ride his bike, she had thought he meant it literally. As in, a bicycle. But he had a motorcycle? A real motorcycle?! The excitement brightened her face as she gasped with delight. Without hesitation, she grabbed the helmet and plonked it down soundly over her head.

"Ready!"

He's totally looking forward to it too. (Spoilers: try and you'll *so* get an answer.)

Duo laughed at her confussion and her sudden excitement. He was very proud of his bike, one of the few luxuries his keeper let him take to Japan. Sometimes he talked about his ride like it was his mistress, but he'd hold on the "bike is my lady" jokes for the night. At the moment, there was only one lady taking all his attention.

"Here, lemme..." He fixed the helmet position on her head, checking that no hair got badly tangled inside it. "Are ya sure ya don't want a hairtide for the trip? I have some extra ones." He asked while walking towards the bike.
