 This is what happens when I cannot get to sleep...   I’ve seen a lot of AUs set in high school, boarding school, college / university, and the like. Maybe it’s just cause I love the De-age trope but... has anyone done any fic where the AU is middle school/ junior high or younger ( Pre-K / preschool , elementary school)?  I am curious.

I'm sure they exist somewhere. The problem is that most fic writers write ships and you can't have ships with children that young (well, I suppose you could, but it would be weird). But I'm sure there are AUs out there of that type. I know that I've seen (but never read) DW AUs in Hogwarts that have the Doctor and the other characters (companions, Jack, the Master) in the first year, so that would qualify as middle school.
