Lunching at work and other pleasantries.

Rory sat in the commissary of the hospital waiting on Emily. Their breaks had finally meshed for them to get a chance to eat together. He had already picked her lunch up for her, knowing pretty much what she liked, and had set it out on the table before him, her food neatly set out neatly for her. He sipped his tea, checking messages on his cell

The morning had been dragging, and Emily was trying hard to get through so she could spend some time with her husband. Soon, it was time for her break, but before she could get out of the ER, someone stopped her and handed her a box that had been delivered to her. Emily opened it and found a Rupert Bear plush toy inside. There was no card, and she wondered if it was from Rory.

With the teddy bear tucked under her arm, Emily walked down the to cafeteria and smiled when she saw Rory sitting there already. So she went over to the table and sat the teddy bear down on it before sitting down.

"Hello."

Rory smiled at her and glanced at the bear. "We having company for lunch?" he teased, leaning over to kiss her lightly. "How was your morning?"

Emily laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "It was sweet of you to get him for the baby so I thought he should at least join us for lunch," she said before she returned his kiss. "It was boring. How was your morning?"

Rory gave her a confused look. "I wish I had thought of sending it to you, but I didn't,"he told her. "I wonder where it did come from?" He frowned a bit at that. "My morning was insanely busy."

When the man walked over, Emily grinned at him and nodded. "Nice to meet you, Azeem," she said before she looked across the room and noticed the man glaring at Rory. She wondered if Rory knew him, but wasn't going to ask with Azeem there.

Rory forgot about the weirdo as he chatted with Azeem, bringing him up to date about how he met aEmily. Azeem hugged Rory and shook Emily's hand before leaving.

Rory caught Emily's look after Azeem left. "What is it?"

After Azeem left, Emily looked over at Rory. "That guy over there in the rugby shirt keeps staring at us. It's creepy," she said.

Rory glanced over and frowned. "That guys been hanging around the hospital for the last few days. He showed up in casualty and just seems to have never left."

"No. I just need better shoes, which I'll get this weekend," she said as she stood and pushed her chair in. "I'll see ya at home."

He relaxed at that and nodded. "See you at home," he told her as he grabbed their trays to take them back. "Love you."

Emily waved goodbye to her husband and went back to her station. The rest of her shift went rather quickly and soon she was on her way home. As she waited in the Tube for her sub, she sent Rory a text, telling him she was on her way home.

Once her sub arrived, she got on and put her earbuds in and listened to her iPod. It was something she did to help herself relax and to tune out the noise around her. And soon, she was home and kicking off her shoes. and just as she was about to go make herself some tea, they was a knock on the door. Going over, she pulled the door open, her heart seizing when she saw it was the man from the hospital.

"What do you want?" she asked.

"I want to chat with you," he said.

Emily knew something wasn't right so she tried to shut the door only to have him catch it with his hand. Quickly, she turned and ran up the stairs and locked herself in the bathroom. And as he started to bang on the door, she quickly sent a message to Rory.

Man from hospital is in the house.

Rory was just getting off shift as his phone vibrated again. He glanced at the message and the color drained from his face as he swore hotly and he bolted out of the hospital, flagging a cab out front. He managed to get one to stop by practically throwing himself in front of it. He gave the cabby the address and put in a call to the police as he bounced impatiently in the back. The drive took far longer than he wanted it, but far less than the underground would have been. He had the money out and threw it at the man as he jumped out of the car before it had finished moving. He got to the front door to find it open.

"Emily?" he shouted, charging up the stairs.
