'cause my family don't seem so familiar...

I don't talk about my family much on my journal. I'm not sure why. One reason is probably a throwback to the painful shyness of my youth. I'm sure another is due to my mother's feelings on privacy. She's not secretive, necessarily, but if I've heard her say "it's no one's business" once, I've heard it a thousand times. And, I'm sure there are ( Read more... )

I hope your sister recovers quickly and that you two can build on your relationship again. *hug*

Oh, honey, I really hope that you and your sister can get back to the way you used to be. I'm sure she is still the good person you remember underneath all the Christiany trappings and that she loves you and wants you to be happy. I hope that you and L can experience that sister together (and that she can experience you and L together too). xoxo

Thanks, meridy. :)

I think you're right. My sister was a very sweet person once, and I think she still can be. It just got all wrapped up in self-righteousness for a long time. Personally, I think that's one of the problems with the big mega-churches. I expect this big effin church that she's given so much to to step up and help her out now and if they don't, I'm telling them exactly what kind of hypocrites I think they are.

What a lovely thing to happen. I'm so pleased about this mate. It IS a second chance at that. Well done for kind of being open to it as well... know what i mean? Sometimes these things take time and they do have to play out. What a great way to start the weekend!

Yeah, you know, I never would have thought this could brighten my mood so much, but it has. Funny how things can sneak up on you, eh? :)

That's great that the surgery went well. Hope your sister recovers soon, and you both get back being how you were in the good times. Wish it didn't have to be ill health that brought you both back together. But I'm very glad for you. ::hugs::

So ... is this an appropriate place to make pot jokes .....?

Thanks, geeky. :)

Sure. Pot jokes are always appropriate. She'd never smoke it, though. I'd have to sneak it into a brownie. :p

The magic of text messaging. I'm glad you've reached a turning point with your sister and I hope her recovery is swift.

Thanks, Michelle. :)

Texting is indeed magical. A good part of my relationship was built on it. :p
