and i agree, its a lost cause. there will be reservation and quotas. bad timing with the protests, eh? docs took away your thunder. do it again i say. again.
Ah ok. The media coverage is important for the message and the protest movement to spread and the Government to take notice.
Would you happen to have the contact details of any of the organisers? We (Pan-IIM AA) were trying to get in touch with IIMB. Also, do you have any contacts of IIMB alumni in Delhi whom we can rope in on the Pan-IIM AA - IIMB's under-represented right now.
You're doing it all the wrong way. You need to sit back and relax. Allow the country to go to the dogs. There's no point being the dog barking at the mountain.
This is not India's first fray with reservations and it wont be the last.
Do understand that people like us do not make enough of a vote bank to influence this decision.

And I did find your leap from quotas in Government-funded institutions to quotas for jobs in the private sector very amusing. :D
Yeah, but we still do need to register our protest, however futile it may seem. And it's been thanks to the agitations so far, that the seats under the general quota have been left untouched. The seats under the OBC quota will be incremental additions to the existing ones. This wasn't the case with the initial draft bill.

And ermm if you've been reading the papers, you'll see that the Government has been talking of reservation in the private sector as a future step. CII/FICCI have already been talking of affirmative action instead of reservation. And the CEOs, Govt advisors and legal experts involved with the Pan-IIM Alumni Association tell us that it is definitely on the Govt's future agenda - especially given that it will provide even more political mileage for them.
it's a shame others aren't joining in

It is good that you and the IIM alumni are standing up for this injustice. Others need to take part in these protests too. If you're looking to get involved, look up antireservation.org for when a protest in organized in your city.
