at first glance i really liked that, and then i noticed the artists style, color-wise, wasnt like dali's.. and so i really liked it because dali is very very over rated in my opinion.. and then i noticed the shadow work was all wrong and then i really didnt like it.

interesting that you find the shadow work a turn off. i think the shadow work really makes this piece. he has this thing with interesting colors and shapes, and finding some way to blend the foreground into the background. here, i feel it's the shadow. as soon as the shadow ends, the sky begins. as soon as our understanding ends, other shit starts. i find it a good comment on the human condition, like many of his paintings.

well, there could be many. from what i recall, he is usually trying to address metaphysical questions with his paintings... conciousness, etc. he had no formal training, just saw a painter he admired once and decided that the too wanted to paint. i always thought that was kinda cool.
