DISAPPEARING SECRETS?

Jan 20, 2011 23:00

Hey guys! Just a real quick modpost after a couple comments to our suggestions entry-- is anyone else having problems viewing secrets, and if so, what image host are they? Quick poll here for easy numbers!

EDIT: Also, if you're having issues, first try updating your browser, viewing on a different browser, or cleaning out your browser's cookies! ( ( Read more... )

yanno, I just usually highlight the number and the line between and go to "view selection source" to find the image URL and click it that way. Works every time regardless of what host.

You are a genius. :( I haven't had any problems to test but I hope this works for other people too!

It's usually a browser problem, I find. Especially with Firefox. Sometimes even just a hard refresh will fix it.

Hm, I haven't had this problem for a while. At first, I couldn't see half the secrets on my Firefox browser, so I used to always have to look at the secrets using Google Chrome and/or IE and/or Safari. It didn't matter which host site was used - the images just wouldn't appear.

Then I bought a new laptop, downloaded Firefox again, and everything returned to normal??? SO IDK...

This probably doesn't help any. HI JAMIE X(

HI ERI idk I've... never had problems viewing anything so I cannot sympathize or offer alternatives HAHA SOB. It could just be an external issue like out of date browsers, cookie glitches, etc etc. BUT THERE'S NO WAY TO KNOW.... idk should I edit it in to try updating their browsers/read on different browsers or like, run CCleaner to clean out old cookies and such?

If you use adblock on firefox, you should check out which sites you have blocked. It's possible that once in the past you blocked an image from tinypic, but accidentally blocked the first part of the url which some images use. (:

Er, *tinypic = any free image uploader.

(I personally use CCleaner which does a lot of amazing housework for your computer/browsers, and it won't do anything harmful if you leave it on the default settings.)

Whatever you do, do NOT use its registry cleaning feature. ^^;; I did, and ended up with a machine that was irreversibly unbootable.

Oh I use the registry cleaning as well.... I've never had any problems and I have everything checked except for unused file types lmao. D.Gray-Man manga chapters were showing up. BUT ALWAYS BACKUP IF YOU DO ANYWAY.

Ahh, that's good that you haven't had any problems with it so far, and I hope it stays that way for you. <3

I always did back up, but if I couldn't even boot into Safe mode, there was no way I could even revert to the backups. ^^;; I didn't have a recovery disk of any kind, but now I do for my "new" machine. I learned quite a lesson from that experience. XD;;;;
