What's best is there's no ball-and-chain holding him down in this world so he can waste away his days - and money - in the bar. Would he behave like this if Ming were around? Probably

[and look at who's at the opposite end of the spectrum. Kaim's dirt broke and wearing peasant clothing. Kind of used to this already though. He used to be a peasantish person back in Uhra and he's in the bar as well, looking around for Jansen because hey, it's been awhile since these two have seen each other]

[Waves him over, then turns to the bartender]

This is my buddy Kaim. You take good care of him, okay?

[sighs as he notices that Jansen's already drunk, and walks over to him, also noticing he looks loaded now]

What does it look like I'm doin'? C'mon, have a drink. Order anything ya want. I got it covered. Me an' Bill here, we're gettin' to be real good friends, isn't that right?

[The bartender rolls his eyes and informs them his name is not Bill, but Jansen isn't listening.]

Ah. That's how you get by in the world.

What, with booze? Is there any other way? Well... Yeah, I guess there is, but this way's more fun.

Then I'm bedamned glad I didn't show you where I'd found that whiskey.
