So I realize it's been a while since I posted anything other than a meme. Today I feel like actually blogging a bit about some of my new distractions.

a) Josh Radnor - I made some icons! They're over here
Also, his screenplay for HappyThankYouMorePlease is a wonderful read. Can't wait for the movie to get on the interweb release ( Read more... )

A) Mmm...Josh Radnor
B) Cinemix sounds awesome. I must go check it out immediately
D) I really want to watch True Blood. Maybe I'll do that later today.

As for me, I've been reading: "Just Do It: How One Couple Turned Off The Tv and Turned on their Sex Lives for 101 days (No Excuses)" by Douglass Brown. It's not quite the fun read I was expecting but it's interesting.

I've been watching Weeds, which I continue to adore.

And I've been doing...a lot of roleplaying :)

Re: Just Do It - I read somewhere that once there was a power outage somewhere in the US for a few hours, and apparently more people had sex since they couldn't watch tv lol!

Re: Weeds - Its definitely on my list of shows to watch! Heard a lot of good things about it.

Re: RP - I have to go read your Carl convo! AND DR MERCER/TED IS MY NEW RP OTP =D

b) I don't listen to soundtracks as much as I used to. But I really enjoy the ones by Clint Mansell. Especially "Death Is The Road To Awe" from the OST for The Fountain.

c)I have neither read the script nor seen the film. But I guess I should???
I'm totally with you on the screenplay thing. I've got a whole bunch here now and I can't wait to read them. But I have to finish some papers first. *sigh*

d) I still need to see True Blood. I actually have all the episodes, but somehow I'm not really in the mood for vampires. But I guess that could have something to do with my insane love for "Let The Right One In". I saw that movie at last year's Fantasy Filmfest and I'm still amazed by it.

Will definitely try to scour up some Clint Mansell and try to get my hands on "Right One" :) I guess True Blood is very different, considering it's so American? It's surprisingly full of sex and gore, which is kinda contrasted starkly by the virtuosity of the main character hehe!

You MUST read Sunshine :) And then give me some recommendations from the ones you read!

These new Josh icons make me so happy! (Thank you. More please.)

Hmmm...recommendations...I've already read 500 Days Of Summer. That was really good. But maybe you'd like to wait for the movie?

Weirdly, I finished season 1 of True Blood last night. It's unbelievably shocking as a show in the sense of language, gore and nudity - real adult stuff. Some of the story is a little nonsensicle but it's DEFINITELY worth keeping up with.

I'm going to start season 2 tonight.

I love Tara too. And not only because she has my name.

Tara rocks! She perpetually talks in GQMF lol

I was wondering which channel even airs this show - it's so adult! It has it's priceless moments to counter the WTF moments. Good to hear that S1 is worth finishing :D

It's on FX in the UK, the same channel that shows Dexter. Although True Blood is way WAY more explicit than Dexter. And yes, it's so, SO adult and full of WTF and wonderful GQMF ness.

I really have started to get addicted. I need icons. And to write fic! There's some lovely intense mythology there. Let me know when you get to some of the weirder things!

Wow, when you start to want to write fanfic, you're pretty much a goner :D

I'm still at episode 5, will let you know when I get time to watch more! Mythology eh? I'm not really familiar with any other vamp-verses at all, so the finer nuances may not really register with me!

b) I've actually been listening to my oldies radio station from back home since I found it online. It's just kind of nice to hear people talking about traffic and places where you grew up. Plus the music selection is very nice ( ... )

Haha, yes, John Williams can NEVER do any wrong in my opinion! :) It's so amazing you had the chance to be conducted by him! What do you play? Or do you sing?

LOL is the local lingo called Bostonian? :P

Yeah, my list of shows to watch is literally growing out of control. Which is why I don't watch anything if the first episode doesn't enthrall me. HIMYM had me at hello :)

I play the flute and a little piano, but I haven't really done either since high school/beginning of college. I sang alto for the University Chorale while in school, and it was amaaaaazing. I cried when the Pops did a medley of his works.

I just saw the pilot of Wayuh-house 13. It was wikkid pissa!

Huzzah for blogging! I've been really slack lately too.

a) Josh is so snuggly

b) That's awesome; thank you for introducing me to it!

c) Where did you get the screenplay? I loved the movie but it'd be interesting to see if anything was cut/changed.

I know what you mean about reading screenplays - I have William Goldman's book "Which Lie Did I Tell?" which is all about screenwriting and he has lots of examples of screenplays from well-known movies which are so interesting to read!

d)I am absolutely addicted to True Blood. Watch it; it's hilariously cheesy. Once you've finished the first season, you should read the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris - they're actually quiet different to the show's adaptation (but the sex and violence is still very present!)

My flatmates have got me completely addicted to Green Wing - this insane British show set in a hospital. It's like Scrubs but even more insane.

DUDE! I love William Goldman! I've only read his S Morgenstern books, but I love his writing style and the insights he has in The Princess Bride.

a) Mmmm snuggly indeed!

b) You're most welcome!

c) I randomly spotted it at the national library...I'm sure you can find it online somewhere though! I think the changes aren't so big - things like the opening voiceover, some of the scientific details...but it's a wonderful read!

d)Sookie books?! You kidding me?! Haha I hope I can find them in Singapore!

Will definitely check out Green Wing! Thanks for the Goldman rec as well!
