The heat is thick. There is absolutely no breeze and the sun seems to be taunting the Ranch from high above. Everyone has come in from working for lunch. There are tables out on the porch of the house where there are sandwiches, tea and lemonade waiting for everyone. Of course the heat was beating down on the poor prince. He'd been working non-stop all morning, not even sure why he was put in the stables. The horses were such odd creatures, much like chocobos with hooves. In a way, they were majestic animals.

He wiped his forehead of sweat and kept working. As majestic as they were, the horses still smelled bad. He couldn't wait to break for lunch.

"Hunters?" Edge just sort of looked at Cassie. "What exactly are they hunting that they need people for bait?" His imagination ran away as he thought of Rydia's summons being lured in for food.

Cassie Ray shrugged. "I think it's plain stupid, myself. There are dangerous things out there that need to be taken care of. Snakes, coyotes. It's the hunter's job to eliminate the threat. But using someone as bait as a way to prove themselves is either their way of weeding out the unsuitables, or a damn near criminal waste of resources." Her lip quirked. "But what do I know. I'm only bait."

Snakes? Coyotes? They sounded familiar enough, but Edge couldn't picture what they looked like. "It sounds outdated to use someone like that. And those creatures sound nasty, like those unwanted golems that wander near my people's settlement."
