I feel the need to point out that "I'm Afraid of Americans" is a David Bowie song not a Nine Inch Nails track.
It appeared originally on the soundtrack to Showgirls (of all things) in 1995. Two years later, an updated version then appeared on Bowie's Earthling album. A little more than half a year after that album was released Nine Inch Nails did a series of remixes of the newer version of the song. One of those remixes was released as a single and had a video made, which included Trent Reznor in it.
Odds are you're listening to the single version. Which is refered to as "I'm Afraid of Americans (V1)" on the remix EP.
Of course, given how much new material was recorded for the "remix" versions...one could certainly argue that there is more NIN than Bowie in the finished product...but it was released under Bowie's name with not a NIN logo in sight.
Sorry, as a music geek and a Bowie geek I had to speak up. Seeing tracks mis-credited is a real big pet peeve of mine.
It didn't really offend...I was pretty sure you were just passing along the bad information that was already encoded in the file...I just feel like smacking around whoever mis-labeled the original mp3 or what have you.
