Scott lost control of his bike around a corner Monday afternoon, and he hit the guardrail chest first.  He wasn't even doing 30mph.  Among road rash, abrasions, etc, his chest was cut open through the muscle and ribs.  When people went to help you could see his heart and lungs through his right side.  The opening is 23 cm long from under his right

On a side note, the highway I used to take to college has steel cable lines strung up as barriers along the side of the road now. This is why people who don't ride don't understand how that stuff scares the unholy flying shit out of me. I don't speed down that highway any more, not will I as long as they've got the cheese wire strung up.
