I realize I desperately  want to have the realtionship with my in-laws (specificly my mother in law) that I have with my parents and thats just never going to happen.

I don't know why its so upsetting.

I think I really just miss my folks and my husband right now.

Also I ordered to big, should have got an extra small

I think that it takes more time. If I remember correctly, you've known your parents longer? I'm being cheeky, I apologize. I'm sorry that it seems like it's never going to happen.

I think as long as you get along with them well, then that might be the best you can ask for! There's always that stereotype that mothers-in-laws clash with their daughter-in-laws, you know? XD; If/when I get married, I don't expect to be AS close to my in-laws like I am my parents because it's a slightly different dynamic but I hope we would be able to get along and feel comfortable around each other.
And like Phae said, give it more time?

They're very different from your parents, aren't they? It can never be exactly the same, but you can keep trying. I don't know how your living situation with them is right now, but it might be easier to get closer to them when not living in the same house? That really depends on the people and personalities though, so I dunno.

Sometimes I think we're a little warped by how good our relationship with our parents is. Frankly, I just wanna be that open and honest with everyone and it doesn't work. I guess the best you can do is figure out the kind of relationship that works best for you, and be glad that your mother in law is relatively wonderful compared to many others.

I'm looking forward to seeing you!
