RocknRolla Too English For Warner Bros

Sometimes I feel like the American Film Industry needs a good kick in the balls.
Seriously, how fucking stupid can they be.

Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla, starring Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton, is due for release by Warner Bros in October in the States. However, producer Joel Silver is out and about shopping it to studios such as Lionsgate and Sony ( Read more... )

The movie didn't want to play for me so I watched it a youtube instead and hope it was the right one I watched. I loved it!

I feel sorry for those who live in America if they have to only watch American movies. :(((

I changed the vid with one from YouTube. You probably found the right one. If Gerard Butler was in it it was the right one.
Think this movie might be cool, will have to check it out.

It is kind of crazy. Hollywood is acting like Americans are stupid. They need to take more chances. Stop remaking british movies and tv-shows for American audiences, it's just so bloody pointless.

Btw, I absolutely LOVE your icon.

I personally don't like Guy Richie, but that's way out of line. Why would they offend an entire group of folks, of potential paying customers, by making a statement that a movie is "too English?"

I liked Snatch a lot.
I think they are treating their audience like idiots. They need to take a chance.

To answer your question: Very stupid!

I saw that news article at several Gerard Butler sites. I think it's a terrible mistake. I've also signed two petitions urging Warner Bros. to release this movie. It is supposed to open on 3 October in three large US cities and on 31 October in more theatres. I hope it still will.

Warner Bros. is really crazy. They also have moved the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November to next July !! Ackkk!

It's sad really. Hollywood is treating the audience with little respect and seem to assume that the American public are idiots.
I hope the movie is a bog hit for some other studio so WB can see what a big mistake they made.

Really!? Why? I mean unless the movie production itself is actually delayed there is no good reason for them to do that.

Warner Bros. is making a boatload of money on The Dark Knight, but because of the strikes, they don't have a blockbuster to release next summer. That seems to be the reason for the move to July, 2009. Others think Warner Bros. doesn't want a conflict with Dan doing Equus in NYC at the same time the movie would be playing. Personally, I think it's all about money and Warner's business plan.

Someone just told me that Twilight has been moved from 12 December to the November date that was supposed to be Harry Potter. That would be good news. I'll have to check and see if it's true.

I figure it's all about the money. I guess waiting a bit after the sucess of Dark Knight might seem like a good business plan, but I doubt the fans are happy.

That would be great if Twilight could get an earlier release. Hopefully the other countries will follow, putting it in Potter's spot. It's supposed to be released 13 February 2009 here.
