I know what you mean, I feel the same way, next year My brother and his girlfriend will get married but due to immigration laws she has to stay with us for 6 months. I like her and we get along well on her visits but that is different then living here for 6 months. When my brother moved in it was to be for 6 months when he finally moves next year it will have been close to 5 years. It is tough feeling like a third wheel in your own home. At least I made sure he would not smoke when he is in the house he must smoke in the back porch nowhere else.

The trouble is in both of my situations, I've had the weaker position and not as much control as you do with your situation. Makes things more delicate for me.

to have control you have to be able to be assertive and seize control I am not assertive and I have never seized control in my life. I am working at it now. Once things settle down a bit in the new year I will no longer allow this. I will not allow him to stay with me pastr the spring.
