► The closer I get to Christmas weekend, the worse my anxiety and nerves seem to be getting. The complication I've developed this fall where I seemingly need to fast the day before going out so that I can make it through without feeling sick is being compounded by the possibility that I'll have to go out 3 days in a row

It's possible that there was just some confusion over whether the list that you saw was of that kind, or of the "Best [noun] Ever" variety that dominates the rest of the year. Of course, Princess Bride is an odd choice for the "Best Movie Ever" too.

Still, I find it surprising that SP is appearing on so many people's "Best Movie of the Year" lists. Sure, I enjoyed it a lot, but it was always a movie intended for a rather particular audience. It may have something to do with how overlooked it was at the time creating more affection and loyalty in those who did see it.

The thread I was referring to asked people to name their favourite movie of all time. I think Scott Pilgrim being listed as so many people's favourite movie on the thread (on a "geek" forum of the site) has as much to do with some people having short memories and attention spans, as it does some people's need to be individualistic hipsters.

Just a thought.
