This was so well done. It is so understandable that Jim would have this reaction to TOS Kirk not trying to see David when he was growing up. And Bones was fantastic through all of this, providing that listening ear and pragmatism that Jim needed. The strength of their friendship really showed through it all.

I never liked TOS Kirk honestly, but AOS Kirk? he has so much baggage! He just intrigues me. And I'm a romantic and want everyone to find their true love, so with his past, I think AOS Kirk would really embrace the idea of fatherhood and family if it should happen to him; wanting to 'do it right' and the idea that the other Kirk just let his kid grow up without him would be an anathema to him.
