Yay!

He's practically the adopted brother to their Emperor.
Not to mention his cousin. And don't you know who his father is?!? Well, at least they are Betan-centric enough to remember Cordelia....

Anyway, loooooo-viiing IT!

to Cordelia, I think she appears on paper as a "respectable Betan Citizen" and therefore they don't include her in the official dossier of those troublemakers. Privacy laws, you know.

Hmm. Known associate versus familial ties and patterns of behaviour. Interesting. Thanks :-)

and for anyone who was wondering..

"Gordon Bennett" is a minced oath (for "God Damn it") popular in England.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Miles was on planet as a child without any remarkable problems. He spent a year/a semester with his grandmother. Mark spent a couple of years on Beta. What has happened recently to get everyone knickers in a twist? Or is this questions no one really wants to ask?
Steady Freddie should have gotten over this by now. Or Cordelia's mother should have filed assault charges against him for attacking a PTSD patient. He surprised her with crowds, camera, medals at a public ceremony when she was suffering from exhaustion, lack of sleep, stress and TRAUMA from war experience. Also secondary Trauma as she was senior at the camp and too many people saw her as a hero and told their horrible stories. Dr. Naismith should have had so many law suits and injunctions out after medical malpractice by out of control psychologists had sent her daughter fleeing the planet that no government official would dare talk to her family.

Remember the Vor game, when he visits beta? Criminal activity files tend to run on anything and everything - they're not limited, even in nice governments, to what is, and is not, noted in court room files, and cross-linking can include familial affiliations and accomplices as well ( ... )

I was thinking that Cordelia's mother and brother could have filed lawsuits for assaults and medical malpractice to embarass Steady Freddy. Cordelia had a bad trip home and then attacked with a public ceremony while nearly delusional from exhaustion and stress. She needed to be delivered into her mother's hands instead of into a media event.
Is Steady Freddy still a prominent politician? He should still be alive, Betans live a long time, but surely someone else would have defeated him in the elections.

It's possible, but they'd probably need the cooperation of Cordelia for that, wouldn't they?

Re Steady Freddie - undoubtably he's no longer in office (I see the Betans having a similar term limit on their elected officials as some countries here on contemporary Earth), and as you say, Betans tend to live a fair bit longer then the rest of us mere mortals, so without a doubt, he's still amongst the living - just as well he doesn't live on Kibou-daini ;-) - and probably haas similar celebrity as former US Presidents, or other former elected heads of state that haven't (to use a very London phrase) popped their clogs yet...!

Regarding current politicians on Beta - agreed, there's a new crop, and you're just beginning to meet them...!
