Gah! Audience noise is the WORST! Although if it is actually in response to the film it's slightly less bad than people just talking and rustling through the movie. IMO, popcorn and food in noisy wrappers, ice in cups and anything else that makes a noise should be crushed at the door, along with phones! Anyone touching a phone during the movie should be instantly vapourised, with their pictures displayed outside the cinema with suitably mocking captions.

No one was on their phones, and I don't mind food and popcorn noises at all - it's the sights and smells of going to the theater! Hearing the laughs and gasps was super fun, like, the entire audience was engaged.
