Yes, Mordechai the Jew is in the Bible. Mordechai's introduction is the sentence that begins אִישׁ יְהוּדִי (Esther 2:5). That's one of the things that allowed me to map Rabbi Palache to Mordechai so easily... Mordechai is typologically the Everyjew.

The megillah story is pretty much the only purimgifts story I've read so far (lomedet linked) and I was like, if that isn't by roga I will eat my hat.

I *adored* the ending. Just perfect. Though the alternate ending would have been hysterical also.
