OMG, I'm watching the season finale of Merlin right now. It is all I can do not to burst out loud laughing. So many fic tropes. This show is back to being the Slash Dragon's wet dream. So far the heroes of the episode are Merlin, Merlin's tears (SHOCKING I know), Arthur, and Arthur's hairy chest.

OMG it's a man on television with CHEST HAIR.

Do you watch Bones, ever? Last ep, Booth was stripped down to his boxers (I might have watched that bit multiple times on slo mo, why do you ask?) and he is smooth as a baby's bottom. In fact, Hodgins walked in and goes "Dude, where's your chest hair?" I giggled. The fifth time I watched it. The first four I don't even think I heard what he asked...

I think there may have been a shot of him with his shirt slightly unbuttoned at one point, but it's definitely there. I have proof! (OK, it's not *Gibbs*, but it's definitely proof!)

What is with season finales and Arthur's chest hair? Not that I'm complaining.

Okay, seriously, one day Arthur is going to discover that every single thing he's ever taken credit for was not actually of his doing, and it's going to be a huge blow to his self-confidence.

So true. Poor w00bie. (I'm not sure how I went from vaguely interesting to OMG I LOVE HIM in the period of this season, but there you go.)

I know :( It sucked not to have her there for the finale. And I wish I could know for a fact that she'd be prominently featured next season, but considering the fact that she was so rarely featured this season, when she was living in the castle, I don't know what'll happen. I'm imagining her as appearing about as much as Nimueh in season 1 -- there in the background, with 2-3 larger arc episodes that are more about her.

And oh, Merlin and his tears! Poor boy. He should never have made plans to go fishing with his dad when this was all over, or whatever father-son bonding time they'd planned on.

And LOL Arthur. I can only imagine the conversation he'll one day have with Merlin, bedridden with injuries:

"You let me face seven warlords and a ravenous boar on my own?"

"You were very determined!"

"Yes, Merlin, that's because I was sure that I'd previously killed a dragon with my own bare hands."

"Oh. Er, oops?"

And, aw, that conversation. It will happen, sooner or later, and I'm not sure how they'll come back from that.
