Re: Kings prompts

...let me just say that basically the whole purpose of me asking for prompts is so I can write short ficlets and post them in the same entry and mostly NOT HAVE TO GIVE THEM TITLES. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate giving titles? I loathe it with every fiber of my being. A single tiny prompt is supposed to turn into 500 words, not 3000. And ( Read more... )

I'm pretty good at titles, for the record. (All those years of headline writing.)

If you feel like reading the fic -- or even hearing me explain it to you over email -- and suggesting a title, THAT WOULD BE MORE THAN GREAT. The best I could think of for now is something like "Bikurim", which, while it might work for any other fandom, is too explicitly Jewish for Kings IMO (considering I made a point to hint but not specify too much in the fic...)

Lemme know if you feel like it and I'll email you.

I hear you on the title-hate. I am TERRIBLE at titles, and have several finished stories hiding on my hard drive awaiting titles that will likely never come.

But! I have a suggestion. Next time, you should ask for fandom (and pairing or whatever) and a title as the prompt. Then you don't have to worry about it. (This is how I would do prompt ficlets. If I ever did them. Which I don't. But I still have a plan, just in case.)

This is an excellent, excellent suggestion.

Sigh. If only we could just call every fic "The One Where..." Come to think of it, you're pretty great with TOWs.
