Oh, so beautiful! And very exciting even for someone who's seen several feet of snow this winter. (It's so much more mild here.) Love the desserts, too... M.
The desserts were from this small, adorable cafe called Mozart, and it was the closest thing I've ever seen to the Pie Hole from Pushing Daisies, except less American-diner and more European-cafe.
And man, snow. Snow on sunny days is one of the most beautiful things there are. IMO :-)
If you ever get up here, you might die of shock. ;-)
LOL, that is very possible. The space actually surprised me here because it was so American to me -- I'm used to things being huge in America, not in Europe. Maybe it occurred to me just because I'd noticed it in a rest stop in the road, by a gas station, where everything tends to be bigger (except, um, here:-)). And it makes sense Canada would be even bigger than that. I hate to be a mideast stereotype, but sometimes living here feels like living on a Subway (not to mention, there aren't six degrees of separation between people -- at best, there are three).
Oh, wow, the golden mountains sunset effect is gorgeous, it looks so great in the picture. One of those fantastic compositions that's somehow almost surprising are an everyday thing.
Great pics! I always enjoy your pic posts very much.
In case you are wondering: yes, that is in fact baby Clark Kent crashing to Earth from Krypton.
Yay, happy you likesd :-) Flaming mountains like that are gorgeous, aren't they? Although not an everyday occurence everywhere *g*.
It was actually my sister who came up with the CK joke! She does not know it, but she is fannish :-) It was just a weirdly shaped cloud crossing the sun at it disappeared behind the mountain, but the timing was perfect.
For color I love the first shot and the one of the wet Munich sidewalk, and for composition the one with the pine-lined window, and for sheer spectacle I love the mountain with 'your' village in the foreground.
Thank you for the detailed comment! Especially about the colored pics, because the reason I was taking them was for a still photography exercise for school, where I need to photograph abstract light.
Spectacle is a good word for it. It blows my mind that there are people who live their entire lives in these surroundings, so different from everything I'm used to...
PS - how was the latkes/hamentashen debate? Did you end up going?

I really do need to go over there to ski. Although possibly not in the next year, because then I would miss out on some people :-)
