Chase! More Chase, right? Right. You should maybe write about how Chase has been kidnapped by various other fandoms like you did that one time. I like the idea of swimming Chase scenes.

Here I started rambling about your previous post, so I'll actually go comment there. This is the swimming Chase post.

I was totally thinking about it. Although I don't know if you also watch that other fandom, and if you don't you totally should.

And swimming Chase! Positively inspiring.

So inspiring there is a movie about it! Sorta. Which I totally watched once. Because Jesse Spencer was swimming!

I would probably watch it if you wrote it. Maybe. I plan on watching SGA any day now to be able to read the fic I keep hearing it's awesome, anyway, so it can go on the list.

Oh, dude. If you start watching SGA - and I can't say that the show is that good, but the fanfic is - you will be out of commission for days. I can't say I recommend it. I mean, I kind of do? But not at a time of your life in which you have something significant to accomplish, like, say, finals.

Well, in all fairness. Americans speaking Hebrew use "Sheket" idiomatically as "shut up," whether it's an exact translation or not.

But I'm right there with you about the lack of Chase. Swimming Chase would be awesome...I've seen Swimming Upstream and JS does great things for bathing suits.

If you think about it, nobody uses "sheket" in a nice tone, anyway. It's inherently bossy.

True. It's very much a classroom/Knesset word. It was just startling to hear her say that instead of, say, 'tishtok', or 'stom ta'peh' or something along those lines.

I think he had, what, three words in this episode? "I don't... care?" That might be setting a record. (And I seriously can't help but wonder about JS's pay for this season... and whether he knew what he was signing up for.)

And yeah, Ziva was very "shut up" in tone. But she is Israeli, so it just stood out to me.

I was watching that NCIS ep with my husband, and he mentioned that he was taught sheket bevakasha in Hebrew School as a polite "quiet, please" but then started to wonder if his teachers had taught him profanities without him knowing it. Ah well.

No, he got it right :-) Shut up would be 'shtok', or 'stom ta'pe', or variations thereof. But at least her accent was good this time!
