Successfully drove the new car to Tel Aviv and back! For once, I actually like the smell of a new car. (am I the only one who doesn't like the smells of new cars? Everyone always inhale ecstatically -- ah, new car! -- and I usually just get nauseous

Sounds like a great panel! Did you go out of idle curiosity, or do you have plans to one day infiltrate break into Hollywood by "proving yourself" in the less cutthroat-competitive cinema scene in Israel?

Yay, I am not alone! New cars give me a headache; I just want to eat and drink and spill stuff until it smells worn and comfortable.

I went more out of curiosity. I'm not even sure I want to go into our not-so-fledgeling-anymore-but-still-insanely-under-budgeted industry here, but if I do - well, it definitely will be here. I think the only way to make it in Hollywood is to actually uproot yourself and go to Hollywood. But it was also interesting to hear in terms of marketing your film abroad, through international film festivals and so forth. And btw - have you seen any Israeli films? There've been some really great ones recently (and some of them are even slashy!). I could mail you something if you like.

And SGA! I just finished watching, and I really liked this ep, especially the Wraith, who cracked me up. "A pleasure to make your acaintance," he tells Sam, because this Wraith has manners! His momma brought him up right. And then, "Just a little Wraith humor, ho ho ho!", and later, he laughs at a joke John makes - he gets

I've seen Yossi and Jagger (and am embarrassed to even show you that review considering you have actually *been* in the Israeli army and therefore know way more about it than I do), and a documentary about a Greek-Israeli punk-rock band with Yehuda Poliker who did songs about the Holocaust, and... gosh, there had to have been more; my Israeli friend and I spent most of our time together in college watching movies; she must have shown me some from Israel... Well. What would you recommend? I can see if our library or Blockbuster carries any, although if there is no GLBT theme, chances are slim for the latter. :)

I love that Wraith so much; have done since "Common Ground," and didn't really believe they'd bring him back, but happily, the SGA producers have come to believe more in picking up dropped threads than the House writers, and here he is! With all his elegance and tech-savvy and Wraith humor! (I wonder if there are lefty Wraiths?) And a face like Scar, LOL.
